North Staffordshire YMCA Ladies Football Club was established in 2009 and currently has one senior ladies football team playing in the Staffordshire County Women’s League.  We are hoping that over the course of the next few seasons we are able to extend the club to additional age groups and are striving to incorporate a girl’s junior section. We will work towards achieving the FA’s Charter Club mark which ensures that the club offers FA qualified coaches and policies and procedures are in place for the safeguarding of children.

The club was developed and implemented by a group of dedicated players, volunteers and with the full support and backing of North Staffs YMCA.  With the financial support of £1000 from the YMCA the club was able to pay the first seasons affiliation costs, insurance and purchase a kit. The club is non profit making so therefore to ensure the future success of the club we engage in regular fund raising events.

Despite the fact that this is the teams first season playing together we are already pushing for promotion.

Daniel Flynn, Chief Executive for North Staffordshire YMCA commented “this is a great opportunity to encourage females to participate in sport and take the positive steps necessary for them to lead a healthier lifestyle and I am very pleased to be able to offer my full support”.

The aim of the club is to provide ladies football within the local and surrounding community which in turn will promote community cohesion and encourage ladies to lead a healthy lifestyle overall.

We endeavour to provide good quality coaching/training to ensure that all players are given the opportunity and succeed in competitive football.

The club has an open access policy and we take players of all abilities, providing a safe and exciting learning environment where ladies can participate in the game and where we as a club will support them to ensure that they develop their skills and fitness levels to reach their full foot balling potential.

The team trains on a Thursday evening from 6.30pm until 8pm at Hanley Park (opposite the YMCA).

Home matches take place on Sunday afternoon (KO 2pm) at Northwood Stadium.

North Staffordshire YMCA Ladies FC are always looking for new players to come along and have some fun and improve your fitness at the same time.  All players will have the opportunity to play competitive football regardless of your current football ability.

North Staffs YMCA ladies encourage fun and enjoyment from training and social gatherings.  Although we are competitive we will ensure that we make you feel welcome to play positive friendly football.
